✿ A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME ✿

I live my whole life in a state of overflow -- enveloped by everything; people, places, phrases and the discovery of weird noises.

My work is a practice of introspection, utilizing therapy techniques, mantra/meditative repetition (sometimes disguised as the chorus of a pop song), and visceral sounds to create poignant and stirring compositions. I aspire to be boundless by genre, allowing for experimentation and movement in the soundscapes I create.

The songs I write for my band, IAN SWEET, do a lot of the heavy lifting for my mental health -- my main outlet for processing and creating pathways to growth. I examine the intimacy of human relationships, the mundanity of daily life, and try to relay these intricate and relatable themes through common/quirky trinkets, past lives, lost loves and whatever else I can grasp onto in-between.

My composition and Sound Design work (whether it be for Commercials, Film, TV etc.) allows me to step outside of myself and grow with a collective vision. Collaboration is so sacred to me, especially collaborating across mediums. I attempt to mimic the ebbs and flows of life with swelling moments of emotion and sudden grips of quiet. I try to capture what it feels like to be human!
